The Assembly Rooms is the premier venue for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and is celebrated its 24th year at the Festival in 2004. Having built the original site, I was commissioned to redesign it to fit in with the new 2004 branding. I took the opportunity to integrate the online ticketing system, which had been run from a separate site in 2003.

The jump from a brochure site to a separate online ticketing site (which had been provided by another company), significantly reduced the potential of online sales. I specified and ordered a web server and hosting package suitable for the high volumes of traffic the website gets during the festival, and worked with a PHP developer to ingegrate the online ticketing with the new website.

The new site and ticketing system went live on time, and online ticket sales for that year's Fringe more than trebled from 6% to 21%. We received a lot of unsolicited praise for the website and online ticketing.

The Assembly Rooms site is now run by the company who provide their ticketing system.
